The farm Agriturismo Il Cerro Sughero is located is part of the locality Scarlino, in the Province of Grosseto, in the heart of the Maremma Tuscany, only a few steps from the sea away.

The farm with swimming pool offers four apartments and one double room, equipped with every amenity. Easily to reach bathing towns like Follonica, Punta Ala or the picturescque Castiglione della Pescaia. Only 2 km away, at Puntone di Scarlino, there are the most important shops for the everyday life (bakery, grocery  shop, butcher, pharmacy, newsagent, post office, restaurants). By walking or with the mountain bike it is possible to reach the near bays with the limpid sea water (Cala Violina, Cala Martina and Cala di Terra Rossa). The beach of Cala Violina has been classified as one of the three most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in Italy and is only about 1 km airline from the farm away. 

The name cala Violina (engl. Violin Bay) derives from the particular sound created while walking on the white sand. At Cala Violina it is possible to rent canoes in order to explore the numerous bays only accessable from the sea. Those who prefer to reach the beach by car have the possibility to reach Puntone (2 Km), the beach of Punta Ala (5 Km), Follonica (5 Km) and Le Rocchette (10 Km) before Castiglione della Pescaia. The whole territory was already populated by the Etruscans and later by the Romans. Even today it is possible to visit archeological excavations, testifying the strong presence of these cultures. In the whole area around Scarlino there are Etruscan excavations such as the tomb of Val Molina or the Roman villa (it. villa romana) at Puntone di Scarlino.

Also the underwater world is rich of archeological findings, because already in the Etruscan and Roman times many ships with loadings of any type were docking at the Scabris Portus, today Puntone di Scarlino. But not only the coast is worth beeing discovered. Also the inland with Mediterranean wood covered hills or medieval towns, such as Scarlino, Massa Marittima or Vetulonia, invite beeing visited. This is an area where nature, archeology, history and arts are mixed, becoming a really interesting cocktail.

The farm Agriturismo Il Cerro Sughero is situated on a slope between the valley of the Alma river, the sea and the top of the hill, covered with the macchia-wood behind. 
The four apartments and the double room are located in the former stables. The apartments have a living-room with kitchenette, bathroom and double room, whereas the rooms have their own bathroom with shower. The room and the apartments are equipped with heating and air-condition and have a private terrace, where one can pass a Tuscan evening. From this year on, there is the small farm restaurant available, where guests can taste the local cuisine, prepared by "la mamma". Lunch or dinner have to be booked in the morning.

There is also a barbecue at the guest's disposal, where it is possible to grill fresh fish or a real Bistecca alla Fiorentina (typical Florentine beaf steak). It is recommended to accompany these plates with the fresh salad or vegetables from the farm and the local wine. Inside of the farm it is possible to play boccia or archery. By walking or with the mountain bike (to rent directly at the farm) it is possible to start marvellous excursions on the routes of the surroundings. Furthermore it is possible to do the same by riding, to go hunting and fishing.

During the summer months there are many public festivals. The 19th of August at Scarlino there are celebrated Le Carriere del Diciannove in memory of the unexpected and miraculous ending of the cholera in 1855. The whole village dresses as centuries ago and the three quarters, the so called contrade (Centro, Rocca and S. Donato) are in competition for the whole day, which culminates in the evening with performances in the narrow alleys of Scarlino.

Within the unique scenery of the Castle of Scarlino there are during the day wedding ceremonies and in the evening there are organized concerts of various types like classical or jazz music concerts. Moreover in the picturesque piazza at Scarlino there are performances.
